The Moon and Peonies

Artist’s Note

Under the cold, unfamiliar blue sky of New Mexico,
a full moon rose and offered a constant, quiet solace.
After two years of receiving this steady comfort,
I chose to pass it on to those who, like me, stand at the edge of the world.

Though handwork was unfamiliar,
I turned to paint to convey this sincerity,
creating drawings like handwritten letters.
