Bohwa Kim is a Korean born artist based in the United States,
creating paintings of the moon and flowers for comfort and vitality.
Hello, I’m Bohwa Kim.
In 2017, I moved from Korea to the United States,
beginning a new life in a place where even the language and the air felt unfamiliar.
This new life often feels like being lost,
but nature speaks to me and offers constant comfort.
I seek to express that comfort through painting,
a language without barriers.
Two symbols appear often in my work.
One is the moon, which steadies me in uncertain times,
and the other is the flower, a timeless emblem of vitality.
Within them, the stories of life are contained.
To those who live through uncertain times,
I hope my paintings can offer a moment of comfort and encouragement.
